Common Signs and Situations When Urgent Care for Your Pet is
Needed:

  • Vomitting and/or Diarhhea for more than 24 hours ... if your pet
    has not been eating, or is vomitting whatever it does eat, this
    might be a serious condition requiring immediate exam and
    diagnostics. Do not wait, bring the animal in.
  • Difficulty breathing, coughing,lethargy
  • Snake bite, abnormal swelling of any kind with redness
  • Toxic exposure - (Colorado frog - foaming at mouth)
  • Toxicity - intake of poisonous substance or overdose of a medication
    (unconsciousness, immobility, difficulty breathing)
  • Injury and trauma to limbs (hit by car, dogfight)
  • Seizure activity, especially if prolonged
  • Bleeding abnormally, or abnormal discharge of any kind, from rectum
    or genital areas, or from the mouth or nose
  • Not eating or drinking for more than 24 hours, no fecal output
  • Ingestion of a foreign object, observable bloating of the
    abdomen. This is a serious life-threatening situation! Bring
    your pet in!
  • Immobility, or disorientation, from what is "normal" behavior
  • Persistent lameness, limping

If you observe any of these signs or related symptoms, your pet
needs to be seen immediately for proactive medical treatment to
determine the problem and correct, or improve, his health condition.
